Dark and dark

Through a device that measures
The efficacy of my lungs,
I am inhaling wasps like a horror film,
The terror stopping my heart
Between beats
So my lungs are ridged with welts
And veins as thick, inflamed,
As starving attic spider webs.

I am inhaling wasps like a horror film
That I poured down my throat in the dark-
The rattling sound of my life inside
Disconnecting the pitch black railway lines
Of thought; carriages falling off the edge
And tumbling into witches’ weeds.

I am inhaling wasps like a horror film-
Heavy with them now, the skin in my neck
Bubbling - my atria filled; the ventricles
A pit of tar
And all of it so heavy and dark
And sticky as a mixture of honey and larvae
And dark and dark and dark and dark

My body is killed, inside out, by the cold,
And my mind is so necrotic my skulls seems a
Cage, prison, casket, quarantine facility.
