To equip teenagers with the confidence and competence to change the world, one word at a time. By developing teenagers’ writing and critical thinking skills, we empower young writers to become global citizens and succeed in school, career, and life.
We envision a world where writing inspires students from all backgrounds to understand their identities, celebrate their diversity, and right the world—one word at a time.
Write the World, Inc. is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 2012 at Harvard University, dedicated to equipping teenagers with the confidence and competence to change the world, one word at a time. Young writers develop their voices, refine their editing skills, and publish their work within a supportive community of peers. In classrooms, teachers utilize Write the World’s virtual class groups, writing prompts, lesson plans, assessment tools, and other resources to supplement their curriculum. Write the World programs include the global online writing community, monthly writing competitions, educational resources, college essay programs, and intensive writing workshops. Today, Write the World continues to grow, and has reached over 110K+ teens and educators from 125 countries.

Community Ambassadors are young writers from Write the World who join forces from all corners of the globe to support their peers. With their invaluable writing support, they help shape the culture of the Write the World community. If you are interested in serving as a Community Ambassador, check the Write the World blog for application openings.
Working together as a team of Write the World alumni, Senior Community Ambassadors provide feedback on young writers’ drafts, while at the same time modeling best practice peer review for our community.
